Neurosurgery – Locum Tenens – Anchorage, Alaska
Location: Anchorage, Alaska
Rates
- Pay Range: $4,000.00/day to $5,000.00/day
- Travel (lodging, flights, car rental, etc.) Covered!
Schedule
- Coverage: Scheduled + On Call required
- Start Date: 6/1/2026
- Shift Type: Day
- Standard Shift: 5 days/week (8 hours) — 7:00 AM to 3:00 PM
Schedule Details:
- 1 week on call/clinic per month (ongoing, indefinite need)
- Typically 7 consecutive days of call including clinic/OR coverage
- Weekday call: 1 week per month
- Weekend call: 1 weekend per month
- Beeper call with 20-minute response requirement
- Call-backs occur a few times per week
Practice Environment
- Acute care hospital (Level II trauma center – adult & pediatric)
- Team: 2 neurosurgeons (0.75 FTE each) + 2 APPs
- Patient Volume:
- ~10 patients per clinic day
- Up to 3 OR cases on OR days
- ~2–3 urgent OR cases per week
- ~2–3 consults per night while on call
- Patient population: All ages
- Charting: Cerner
- Additional systems: Sectra, Medtronic Stealth Station
Requirements
- Board Certification: ABNS / ABMS required
- COVID-19 vaccination required (no exemptions)
- Flu vaccination required (no exemptions)
- Alaska temporary license available (~6–8 week turnaround)
- Privileging timeframe: ~8 weeks
- References: 3 required upfront during submission
