Physician – Neurosurgery | Locum Tenens (1099) - Anchorage, AK
Start Date: 6/1/2026
Location: Alaska (facility details withheld)
Compensation
- Pay Range: $4,000 – $5,000/day
- (Call/clinic included in posted rate)
Schedule & Coverage
- Ongoing need (indefinite locums coverage)
- 1 week per month coverage required
- Weekly structure typically includes:
- 5 days clinic + OR coverage (8-hour days, 7:00 AM – 3:00 PM)
- 24-hour call during assigned week
- Weekday call: 1 week/month
- Weekend call: 1 weekend/month
- Call response expectation: within 20 minutes
- Call backs: a few times per week
- Typical model: 7 consecutive days of call + clinical/OR coverage
Practice Setting
- Level II trauma center (adult + pediatric patients)
- Mix of elective, urgent, and emergent neurosurgical cases
- Clinic volume: ~10 patients/day
- OR volume: up to 3 cases/day on OR days
- Urgent OR cases: ~2–3 per week
- Call consults: ~2–3 per night
- Patient population: All ages
- Support staff includes nursing, CMAs, and scheduling support
- Working alongside experienced neurosurgeons and APP team
Technology
- Cerner EMR
- Sectra imaging
- Medtronic Stealth Station
Requirements
- Board Certification: ABNS / ABMS required
- Full vaccination required (including COVID – no exemptions)
- Temporary Alaska license available (approx. 6–8 weeks privileging timeframe)
- References: 3 required at time of submission
