Locum Tenens Neurosurgery Opportunity – Illinois
Position Highlights
- Ongoing locum opportunity – 1 week/month (Mon 7a–Mon 7a)
- Inpatient-only, acute care setting
- Multispecialty group & hospital
- Strong APP support (day & night coverage)
Requirements
- MD/DO
- BC/BE Neurosurgery
- Active Illinois license or IMLC
- 6 hrs stroke CME (facility can assist if needed)
Schedule
- Mon–Fri: 7a–5p + night call (5p–7a)
- Weekend: 24-hour call (Fri 5p–Mon 7a)
- ~7 call days/month
Clinical Details
- Adult/geriatric-heavy patient mix
- Avg 6–7 consults/day
- Census ~15–40 patients (avg ~25)
- 4–8 surgical cases/week
Procedures
- General neurosurgery
- Cranial & spinal trauma
- Intracranial hemorrhage
- EVD placement, hydrocephalus
- Craniotomies, spine decompression & instrumentation
Support
- 4 daytime APPs + night APP coverage
- RN & MA support
