Tele Neurologist Job Description

Full-Time and Part-Time Tele Neurologist positions available for a remote position!

Summary

NuView Health’s programming allows our Neurosurgeons to achieve better patient outcomes by utilizing protocol driven medical care, through innovative technology. As a Tele Neurosurgeon, you will examine both stroke and general neurology patients virtually using our telemedicine technologies. We also value physician satisfaction and work-life balance. Job Responsibilities

Tele-Neurosurgery Duties and Responsibilities

General
1. In certain facilities, the NuView Tele-Neurosurgeon will function as a consultant to the tele neurology physician when a consult is requested. In other facilities, the Tele-Neurosurgeon will see STAT/stroke consults as the primary consultant.
2. The NuView Tele-Neurosurgeon will evaluate patients via telemedicine who need a consult and respond to information requests from the facility.
3. The NuView Tele-Neurosurgeon will obtain a history, review pertinent clinical and diagnostic results and perform a virtual tele-physical on these admitted patients.
4. The NuView Tele-Neurosurgeon will provide a clinical assessment and develop a comprehensive plan of care and management in written or dictated form on evaluated patients, including notes in the EMR and orders in the CPOE system.
5. The NuView Tele-Neurosurgeon will discuss the plan of care with the attending physician and tele neurologist as well as with the family members who are present at bedside.
6. The NuView Tele-Neurosurgeon will provide consultation & follow up Neurologic examination as requested by the tele neurologist and other medical staff.
7. All stat physician consults should be contacted directly by the NuView Tele-Neurosurgeon and during their assessment the Tele-Neurosurgeon should be available for videoconferencing to discuss the case directly and in virtual presence.
8. Develops collaborative virtual relationships with primary, consulting, & referring physicians, facility leadership, and clinical ancillary staff.
9. The NuView Tele-Neurosurgeon will be compliant with medical records completion within guidelines.
10. The NuView Tele-Neurosurgeon will complete an encounter form and log each encounter in the provided forms.
11. The encounter forms and log will be submitted within 24 hours of the shift.

CLINICAL
1. The NuView Tele-Neurosurgeon coordinates care with the on-site specialists.
2. The NuView Tele-Neurosurgeon will practice within the guidelines of evidence-based medicine considering the cost of healthcare utilization and risk-benefit of procedures or therapeutic modalities.
3. The NuView Tele-Neurosurgeon will be compliant with Hospital based clinical guidelines/initiatives.
4. If needed, the NuView Tele-Neurosurgeon will coordinate the care plan with primary care physicians through frequent direct contact and video conferencing.

CITIZENSHIP
1. The NuView Tele-Neurosurgeon will maintain accurate, complete, and timely medical records with respect to all patients examined or treated in accordance with all legal, accreditation, regulatory and third-party payor requirements.
2. The NuView Tele-Neurosurgeon will comply with all medical staff bylaws, rules, regulations, policies, procedures, and protocols, and Hospital bylaws, rules and regulations, policies, procedures, and protocols, as such currently exist or are here in after amended.

Qualifications

Requirements
• MD or DO Board Certification in Neurosurgery
• Authorized to work in the U.S.
• 2 to 4 years of Neurosurgery experience, inpatient experience within the last year.
• Ability to work a minimum of 7 shifts per month.
• Ability to navigate various EMR/ EHR systems.
• Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing/documentation.
• Ability to organize and prioritize work.
• Ability to use independent judgment to manage and impart confidential patient information.
• Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate effectively and to develop strong working relationships

Working Hours

This position can be both part-time to full-time. Hours are flexible and work in conjunction with the clinician's availability.
