This medical center is a Level 3 trauma facility that provides comprehensive neurosurgical services to patients throughout the region. The hospital offers state-of-the-art surgical facilities and a collaborative medical environment with a focus on delivering high-quality patient care.
Opportunity:
Physician - Neurological Surgery
Job Details:
• Locum tenens position with multiple coverage blocks available from May 2026 through January 2027, with potential for additional dates • Guaranteed 8 hours per day with overtime applicable after 9 hours • Schedule includes both clinic and call coverage during assignments • Weekday coverage from 8:30am-5pm (regular hourly rate) plus night call from 5pm-8:30am • Weekend coverage is 24-hour call • Approximately 5 patient encounters per shift • Will manage complex spine cases • Required skills include general neurosurgery for adults, trauma cases, spinal surgery with and without instrumentation (cervical, thoracic, lumbar), and placement of ICP monitors • Preferred skills include tumor management, VP shunt placement, and application of external traction • Must have FLURO certification (temporary FLURO acceptable) • Must maintain active California medical license and California DEA • Board Certification required (or Board Eligible within 3-5 years of residency completion) • Need to submit 100 cases within past 24 months during privileging process • Typical privileging timeline is 60-90 days • Must have 2 years of current hospital clinical activity in neurosurgery

Competitive hourly rates with weekly pay and malpractice included.
