This established neurosurgery clinic is part of a respected healthcare system providing comprehensive neurological care. The facility offers advanced neurosurgical services with a 10-bed department and operates as a Level 2 trauma center, creating an environment that balances clinical excellence with professional development.
Opportunity:
Physician - Neurological Surgery
Job Details:
• Rotate with neurosurgery group for 7-10 days per month • Provide 24-hour call coverage one weekend per month (Friday 0700 to Monday 0700) • Handle average daily census ranging from 25-50 patients (approximately 70% consults, 30% service patients) • No in-house call required, but must be available to come in for surgery when called • Primarily consultant role with limited ED admissions (approximately 1-2 patients) • Manage 1-15 patient encounters per shift • Board certification required with ATLS and PALS certifications • Experience with general neurosurgery for adult, pediatric, and neonate patients preferred • Skills in various neurosurgical procedures preferred: cerebrovascular procedures, carotid/vertebral artery surgery, aneurysm clipping • Experience with tumors, neuroendocrine surgery, and stereotactic radiosurgery preferred • Competency in functional procedures, seizure management, VP shunts, and skull base surgery preferred • Proficient in spinal surgery (with and without instrumentation) for cervical, thoracic, and lumbar regions • Experience with peripheral nerve surgery, pain procedures, and endovascular procedures preferred • Ability to place ICP monitors, apply external traction, manage ventilation, and place central lines • Must be licensed in Missouri or have IMLC • Credentialing timeframe approximately 60-90 days

Competitive hourly rates with weekly pay and malpractice included.
