Position Overview
A leading neurosurgical practice in the Memphis area is seeking a Board-Eligible or Board-Certified Neurosurgeon to join its multidisciplinary team. This physician will provide high-quality neurosurgical care in both inpatient and outpatient settings, collaborating closely with neurologists, advanced practitioners, and allied health professionals to deliver exceptional patient outcomes.
The role includes responsibility for evaluating, diagnosing, and surgically treating disorders of the brain, spine, and peripheral nervous system while contributing to research, education, and service development initiatives.

The role includes responsibility for evaluating, diagnosing, and surgically treating disorders of the brain, spine, and peripheral nervous system while contributing to research, education, and service development initiatives.
Job Responsibilities
⦁ Perform comprehensive histories and physical examinations, identifying neurological symptoms and formulating differential diagnoses.
⦁ Interpret diagnostic studies such as CT, MRI, EEG, myelograms, bone scans, and cerebral angiograms.
⦁ Conduct neurosurgical diagnostic procedures including biopsies, lumbar punctures, ventriculostomies, and other relevant interventions.
⦁ Perform surgical operations involving the brain, spine, and peripheral nerves.
⦁ Develop and implement individualized treatment and postoperative recovery plans.
⦁ Provide inpatient consultations, admissions, operative reports, and discharge summaries.
⦁ Participate in multidisciplinary team discussions and care coordination to ensure optimal patient outcomes.
⦁ Contribute to clinical research, education, and training of residents and staff when appropriate.
Qualifications
⦁ MD or DO degree from an accredited medical school
⦁ Completion of an ACGME-accredited Neurosurgery Residency Program
⦁ Board Eligible or Board Certified by the American Board of Neurological Surgery (ABNS)
⦁ Active or eligible for Mississippi medical licensure
⦁ Valid controlled substance registration (DEA license)
⦁ Knowledge, Skills, and Attributes
⦁ Advanced surgical skill and manual dexterity for complex neurosurgical procedures
⦁ Strong clinical decision-making and problem-solving abilities
⦁ Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for working with patients, families, and multidisciplinary teams
⦁ Commitment to ethical practice, patient safety, and high professional standards
⦁ Emotional strength, empathy, and resilience in managing challenging clinical cases
