Bon Secours Mercy Health — St. Vincent Medical Center, a Level I Trauma Center and home to the Mercy Health Neuroscience Institute, is seeking a Board-Certified/Board-Eligible Neurosurgeon for locum coverage. This opportunity offers hospital-only coverage with a strong support team in place.
Assignment Details

Coverage Dates:

2025: December 19 – December 25 (must be available for consideration)

2026: Ongoing, 1 week per month

Schedule: 24-hour call with onsite call-back

Includes 2 hours of morning rounding (approx. 8 AM – 10 AM)

Facility: Level I Trauma Center, hospital-only coverage
Support Staff

2 Neurosurgery APPs (6 AM – 6 PM coverage)

1 Resident (6 PM – 6 AM coverage)
Required Competencies
-
ICP or EVD monitoring and placement
-
Spinal instrumentation for trauma (cervical, thoracic, lumbar)
-
Pediatrics – emergent cranial trauma, including craniotomy/craniectomy & ICP monitor placement

General Neurosurgery – Adult & Trauma

Spinal surgery with instrumentation (cervical, thoracic, lumbar)

Spinal surgery without instrumentation (cervical, thoracic, lumbar)

Placement of ICP monitors

Submission Requirements

Board Certified or Board Eligible in Neurosurgery – Required
