Position Highlights:
Lead a new General Surgery Residency Program in Augusta, GA
Opportunity to shape the direction, curriculum, and educational culture of a growing residency program
Significant professional effort dedicated to program administration and leadership
Maintain ACGME accreditation, compliance, and state approval
Develop and oversee curriculum, policies, and program procedures
Recruit and mentor General Surgery residents
Participate in resident competency evaluations and performance development
Coordinate clinical rotations across multiple departments and specialties
Help develop educational pathways supporting a variety of surgical career interests
Work alongside a strong and committed faculty team with extensive clinical and educational experience
Clinical responsibilities will be combined with program leadership and administration
Ideal opportunity for an experienced surgeon with a passion for graduate medical education and physician development
Candidate Requirements:
MD or DO
Board Certified in General Surgery
Minimum of 3 years of educational and/or administrative experience
Strong interest and experience in graduate medical education
Willingness to maintain clinical practice while dedicating significant time to program administration
Strong leadership, administrative, and team-building skills
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
Current Georgia medical license or ability to obtain an unrestricted Georgia license
Current, unrestricted DEA registration
Clean and unrestricted professional licensing history
