Located in Waterloo, IA; Cedar Falls 10m; Cedar Rapids 65m; Des Moines 110m

Full-time; Permanent position
Overview
Inpatient/outpatient general surgery
Excellent specialty support including well-established interventional radiology, Urologist, Ob/Gyn, pulmonary critical care, cardiothoracic, cardiology, GI, hospitalist, and neurosurgery
Strong Primary Care referral base
31 bed ED and Level III designated area trauma Center
Block OR scheduling with add on time and open scheduling available -UPH Allen- 8 General OR and 1 CVOR & UMP-ASC 4 OR and 2 procedure rooms
State-of-the-art diagnostic and robotics (Da Vinci XI)
12 Bed ICU with intensivist
Excellent work/life balance with flexible scheduling
Family Medicine Residency Program and Des Moines Medical students-teaching opportunities available
Fully integrated system with clinic and hospitals on Epic EMR to improve care coordination
Responsibilities
Clinic-based consultations and surgical procedures
Clinic hours 8AM-5PM
Office procedures varies per provider
Call 1:5 rotation with group
Trauma surgery
Typical General Surgery procedures include appendectomy, cholecystectomy, robotic/minimally invasive hernia repair, gastroesophageal reflux management, colectomy, abdominal surgery, Dialysis Access, Endocrine surgery, and lymphatic system & spleen surgery
