Description
Noor Locums is seeking a Board-Certified General Surgeon for ongoing 24-hour beeper call coverage in Kodiak, Alaska.
Coverage is needed for two scheduled blocks: October 20 at 7:00 AM through November 4 at 7:00 AM and November 18 at 7:00 AM through December 2 at 7:00 AM.
The physician will provide inpatient General Surgery call coverage and respond to surgical needs by beeper. The opportunity involves approximately 4–5 patients per shift with support from nursing staff. The facility utilizes Epic EMR and is a Level IV Trauma Center and stroke-certified hospital.
Due to the expedited credentialing timeline, candidates must have an active Alaska medical license, Alaska DEA, Board Certification in General Surgery, and a clean professional file. Temporary privileges are available.
Job Responsibilities
Respond to surgical consultations and patient care needs
Evaluate and manage General Surgery patients
Perform General Surgery procedures as needed
Provide laparoscopic surgical care
Perform hernioplasty procedures as appropriate
Respond to calls within the required 20-minute response time
Communicate with the clinical team regarding patient care
Complete documentation using Epic EMR
Qualifications
Board Certified in General Surgery
Active Alaska medical license required
Alaska DEA required before start
BLS required
ACLS required
ATLS required
Current CV required for submission
Clean professional file required
Temporary privileges available
Must meet credentialing requirements
