Description
Noor Locums is seeking a General Surgeon for an ongoing locum tenens call coverage opportunity with LifePoint Health at Wythe County Community Hospital in Virginia.
This position provides call-only coverage for unassigned patients in both inpatient and outpatient settings. The physician will be the only surgeon on call and will provide phone consultation and in-person coverage as needed.

End Date: Ongoing
Coverage Type: Call Only
Call Type: Beeper
Call Response: 30 minutes by phone; 1 hour in person
Call Coverage: Only surgeon on call
EMR: MediTech; MEDHOST
Credentialing: Minimum 30 days
License: Active Virginia medical license required
Job Responsibilities
Serve as the only surgeon on call.
Provide phone consultations as needed.
Respond in person within 1 hour when required.
Evaluate and treat surgical patients.
Perform inpatient and outpatient general surgery services as clinically indicated.
Manage admissions for surgical patients.
Perform emergency and routine general surgery procedures within scope of practice.
Provide care for patients requiring laparoscopic and other general surgical procedures.
Perform GI endoscopy procedures as qualified.
Perform chest tube and central line placement when required.
Collaborate with hospital staff and other clinical teams.
Qualifications
Board certification required; board eligibility accepted.
Active Virginia medical license required.
General Surgery training and experience required.
Fellowship training preferred.
Hospital/surgery center privileges required; temporary privileges are available.
Must be able to provide both inpatient and outpatient coverage.
Must be available for call response requirements.
Must be comfortable serving as the only surgeon on call.
