Job description

Job description A critical access hospital in the Florence, OR area needs a Board Certified General Surgeon for a 26-week assignment starting December 7, 2026. Pay is $305/hr base, $396.50/hr OT (1.3x), and $457.50/hr holiday (1.5x). Schedule is Monday-Friday, 8am-5pm, clinic and inpatient/outpatient surgical coverage, roughly 10 patients per day, 21 patient beds. Colonoscopy and endoscopy are required parts of the case mix, along with admissions responsibility. EMR is EPIC.

Job Responsibilities

Provide comprehensive general surgery care in a critical access hospital setting, both inpatient and outpatient. Perform colonoscopy and endoscopy procedures as a required part of the caseload. Manage patient admissions. See approximately 10 patients per day across a mixed clinic and surgical schedule.

Qualifications

Board Certified in Surgery, required. Active Oregon medical license required in hand at time of presentation, no willingness to wait on licensing. ACLS required. Applicant must provide documentation of surgical services representative of the scope and complexity of privileges requested over the previous 24 months, or a training log if training was completed within the past year.

Working Hours

Monday-Friday, 5x8-hour shifts, 8am-5pm.

Skills

Comfortable in a critical access hospital environment handling a general surgery caseload that includes required colonoscopy and endoscopy, plus admissions responsibility. EPIC EMR experience preferred.
