## General Surgery Residency Program Director | Augusta, GA Central Georgia — Home of the Masters Golf Tournament ## Position Details * Full-time, permanent employed position * Setting: Clinical practice and program administration — mixed schedule with rotating weekends * Significant professional effort devoted to program administration in addition to clinical work ## Practice Overview Seeking a BC General Surgeon with educational and administrative experience to lead a new General Surgery GME Residency Program at a 354-bed full-service acute care hospital: * Authority and accountability for the operation of the General Surgery residency program * Development of curriculum, policies, and procedures for the program * Maintain ACGME accreditation, compliance, and state approval * Recruit residents into the program and develop evaluation processes for performance * Participate in competency evaluations of residents * Coordinate rotations across multiple departments * Ensure curriculum supports diverse career pathways and specialties * Strong, committed faculty team with deep experience and knowledge * Only hospital in the CSRA with 5 da Vinci robotic systems including 2 dV5s and 3 Xi systems * Level II Trauma Center and Bariatric Center of Excellence — American College of Surgeons * Accredited by the Commission on Cancer * Certified in Primary Stroke Care, Stroke Rehab, and Total Joint Care — Joint Commission * Healthgrades America's 50 Best Hospitals in Surgical Care * First free-standing emergency room in Augusta opened in 2025 — Evans Emergency * Home of the Joseph M.
