Job at a glance
Job description
Step away from the high-volume urban grind and step into a role that offers true clinical autonomy, leadership, and an unmatched lifestyle. We are partnering with a well-established Critical Access Hospital in a breathtaking rural Pacific Northwest setting to find a dedicated General Surgeon to serve as our Trauma Medical Director. With a manageable clinic volume (~22 patients/week), dedicated in-house credentialing support, and a family-like team culture, this role is designed for a surgeon who values both professional impact and outdoor recreation (hiking, fishing, hunting) right outside their doorstep.
As a full-time General Surgeon, you will manage a balanced mix of surgery clinic, operating room duties, and on-call services. You will perform a typical mix of general surgery, endoscopy, colonoscopy, and emergency/trauma cases. In addition, you will provide vital oversight and educational guidance to the surgery team, collaborating closely with clinic and nursing leadership to drive best practices.
Job Responsibilities
• Manage an approximate clinic volume of 22 patients per week, with room for growth.
• Serve as Trauma Medical Director, providing overall oversight for the Trauma program.
• Participate in general surgery and trauma on-call services and patient rounding.
• Mentor and provide educational guidance to the surgery team.
Qualifications
• Proven experience in general surgery, endoscopy, colonoscopy, and trauma care.
• Strong leadership capabilities and a collaborative, team-oriented mindset.
• Willingness to work on-site in a rural, community-focused healthcare environment.
