Job description
We are seeking a Board-Certified/Board-Eligible General Surgeon for a locum tenens call-coverage position at Flowers Hospital in Dothan, Alabama. This is a hospital-based, call-only role. Please see below for more information.
- Practice setting: acute care hospital, inpatient (Trauma Level III, 200 beds)
- Coverage: call-only (beeper), 30-minute response time; approximately 20 patients per shift
- Case mix: adult general surgery; laparoscopic appendectomy, cholecystectomy, hernioplasty, Nissen fundoplication; chest wall/pleural procedures
- EMR: Cerner
Job Responsibilities
Respond to consults (beeper call, 30-minute response time); approximately 20 patients per shift.
Perform adult general and laparoscopic surgery (appendectomy, cholecystectomy, hernioplasty, Nissen fundoplication) and chest wall/pleural procedures.
Document care in Cerner EMR.
Qualifications
Active Alabama license or IMLC required.
ACLS and BLS required.
Laparoscopic surgery experience required.
