General Surgeon Opportunity - Brattleboro, Vermont Seeking a board-certified/board-eligible General Surgeon to practice in Brattleboro, VT — delivering comprehensive surgical care across inpatient, outpatient, and emergency settings. Position Details

  • Comprehensive surgical care including hernia repair, cholecystectomy, endoscopy, appendectomy, small bowel obstruction management, colorectal surgery, and skin and soft tissue procedures
  • Evaluation and management of acute and chronic wounds within the Wound Clinic's multidisciplinary model
  • Collaborative care with anesthesiologists, CRNAs, physician assistants, perioperative and peri-anesthesia teams, ED clinicians, and hospitalists
  • Patient and family education regarding procedures and care plans
  • Surgical perspective for palliative care, pain management, and end-of-life support
  • Participation in departmental meetings and ongoing professional development
  • Full-time | Hours generally 8:00‚Äì5:00
Qualifications MD or DO degree from an accredited medical school Completion of a General Surgery residency program Board certified or board eligible in General Surgery Active and unrestricted Vermont state medical license Valid Vermont DEA license CPR certification for healthcare providers Proficiency in surgical techniques including familiarity with the latest advancements Strong diagnostic, problem-solving, interpersonal, and communication skills Detail-oriented with a commitment to accuracy and patient safety Compensation $162,240 – $226,699 annually Additional monetary incentives based on productivity metrics Facility Details Not-for-profit community hospital in southeastern Vermont Provides services across Internal Medicine, Family Medicine, OB/GYN, Cardiology, Neurology, Orthopaedics, Podiatry, Urology, General Surgery, and more Medical staff includes more than 130 board-certified providers Serving a rural population of approximately 55,000 people across Vermont, New Hampshire, and Massachusetts 700 employees supported by over 110 active volunteers Community Details This is an excellent opportunity for a physician seeking a welcoming, community-oriented region that offers: Scenic southeastern Vermont location with natural beauty and outdoor recreation Close-knit community with a strong sense of belonging Rich arts and cultural scene in the Brattleboro area Affordable quality of life with easy access to major New England cities
