Locums General Surgery in Dothan, AL up to $1,900/day

Aya Locums is seeking a skilled General Surgeon to provide locum services for a 200-bed facility in Dothan, AL. This is an excellent opportunity for a provider looking for a dedicated call-only assignment with a streamlined 30-day credentialing timeframe. Coverage is needed starting June 30, 2026 and is ongoing for 13 weeks.

Job Details:

• Schedule: 24-Hour Beeper Call Only (7:00 PM – 7:00 AM standard shift timeline). 30-minute response time required.

• Volume & Metrics: Average of 20 patients seen per shift, 10 phone consults, and a 15% callback rate. Call ratio is 1:6.

• Setting: (Level 3 Trauma Center). Inpatient practice setting.

• Procedures: Standard adult general surgery and laparoscopic cases (Appendectomy, Cholecystectomy, Hernioplasty, Nissen Fundoplication). Also includes chest wall/pleural procedures, chest tube/central line insertions, and basic vascular access devices.

• EMR System: Cerner

Requirements:

• Board Certification: BC/BE accepted.

• State License: Active Alabama medical license or IMLC required (Willing to License: NO).

• Certifications: ACLS and BLS required.

• Logistics Note: Provider must reside 90+ miles away from the facility to qualify for travel benefits.

• Submission Info: 2 completed references are required immediately at the time of submission.
