Job description
We are seeking a skilled and compassionate General Surgeon to join our dynamic surgical team in the Bentonville area. This role involves providing high-quality surgical care in both inpatient and outpatient settings at a Level 4 Trauma Center. The ideal candidate will be board-certified in General Surgery, with fellowship training preferred, and demonstrate proficiency in a broad range of surgical procedures, including both emergent and elective cases.
Job Responsibilities
Appendectomy
Cholecystectomy
Hernioplasty
Nissen Fundoplication
GI Endoscopy (Upper, Lower, Sigmoidoscopy, Colonoscopy)
Umbilical hernia repairs
Manage inpatient and outpatient admissions, ensuring continuity of care.
Perform procedural interventions including chest tube insertion and central line placement.
Respond to on-call situations (beeper call) with a required response time of 30 minutes.
Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to develop and implement patient care plans.
Maintain accurate and timely documentation in patient medical records.
Qualifications
Fellowship training in surgical subspecialty (preferred)
ACLS and BLS certification (required)
Eligible for credentialing within 30 days with temporary privileges
Working Hours
Beeper call coverage required with a 30-minute response time
Level 4 Trauma Center environment with exposure to diverse surgical cases
Skills
Strong clinical judgment and decision-making under emergent and elective conditions
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills for patient and team interactions
Ability to manage high-acuity patients in both inpatient and outpatient settings
Commitment to providing evidence-based, patient-centered care
