This is a well-established medical center featuring 162 beds and serving as a Level 3 Trauma Certified facility. The hospital provides comprehensive healthcare services to the southeastern New Mexico region with strong emergency and trauma capabilities.
Opportunity:
Physician - Surgery - General
Job Details:
• Provide General Surgery call coverage for ER/Trauma and inpatient services
• Handle 1-5 patient encounters per shift at a Level 3 Trauma facility
• No outpatient clinic responsibilities - focus on emergency and inpatient care
• Emergency privileges available for qualified candidates
• Schedule: Monday 4/27/2026 at 7AM to Friday 5/1/2026 at 7AM
• Must maintain active New Mexico medical license, NM controlled substance license, and DEA
• Board certification eligible required
• Required certifications: ACLS, ATLS, BLS
• Perform adult and pediatric general surgery procedures including trauma cases
• Conduct laparoscopic surgeries including appendectomy, cholecystectomy, and hernioplasty
• Handle chest wall/pleural procedures and chest tube insertion
• Perform GI endoscopy including upper and lower procedures with sigmoidoscopy and colonoscopy
• Manage central line insertion and PA catheter placement
• Handle vascular access devices and pediatric surgical procedures as needed
• Credentialing timeframe approximately 1 day
• Lodging available at B&J Hotels or Marriott with facility discount rates
Compensation:
Competitive hourly rates with weekly pay and malpractice included.
