Facility:
This 162-bed medical center serves as a Level 3 Trauma Certified facility providing comprehensive emergency and inpatient surgical services to the southeastern New Mexico region. The facility offers strong support for general surgery and trauma care with a focus on emergency and inpatient coverage.
Opportunity:
Physician - Surgery - General
Job Details:
• Provide General Surgery/Trauma Call coverage for ER and inpatient services
• Handle 1-5 patient encounters per shift at a Level 3 Trauma facility
• Perform adult and pediatric general surgery procedures including trauma cases
• Conduct laparoscopic surgery including appendectomy, cholecystectomy, and hernioplasty
• Perform chest wall/pleural procedures and chest tube insertion
• Provide GI endoscopy services including upper and lower procedures, sigmoidoscopy, and colonoscopy
• Handle central line insertion and PA catheter placement
• Manage vascular access devices and pediatric surgical procedures
• Work schedule: Friday 4/3/2026 at 7AM to Thursday 4/9/2026 at 7AM
• Must maintain active New Mexico medical license, NM controlled substance license, and DEA
• Board certification eligible, ACLS, ATLS, and BLS certifications required
• Emergency privileges available with 1-day credentialing timeframe
• No outpatient clinic responsibilities - focus on emergency and inpatient coverage
• Lodging available at B&J Hotels or Marriott with facility discount codes
Compensation:
Competitive hourly rates with weekly pay and malpractice included. Paid Travel and Lodging.
