This prestigious medical center is a leading healthcare institution known for its comprehensive surgical services and advanced medical technology. The facility provides excellent support for surgical staff and maintains high standards of patient care in both inpatient and outpatient settings.
Opportunity:
Advanced Practice - Physician Assistant - General Surgery
Job Details:
• Provide 8-10 weeks of full-time coverage for surgical oncology/general surgery services
• Work Monday through Friday with guaranteed 40 hours per week
• Monday, Wednesday, and Thursday: Variable shift times working primarily inpatient and OR
• Wednesday designated as block day for major surgical cases
• Monday and Thursday focus on lighter cases, add-ons, and surgical assists
• Tuesday and Friday: Clinic-based work approximately 8am-5pm (may end earlier 2pm-3pm)
• Serve as PA first assist in surgical cases with some independent inpatient management
• Handle 4-15 patient encounters per shift
• Manage patient calls and provide comprehensive surgical support
• No call responsibilities required
• Must have minimum 2 years of surgical experience
• Strong OR and surgical skills essential
• Active California license and DEA required
• Must provide documentation of 25 general cases (notes, H&Ps)
• Must provide documentation of 5 OR cases
• Robotics experience and certification required
• Board certification required
• Credentialing timeframe 60-90 days
Compensation:
Competitive hourly rates with weekly pay and malpractice included.
