This 162-bed medical center serves as a Level 3 Trauma Certified facility providing comprehensive healthcare services to the southeastern New Mexico region. The facility offers excellent support for emergency and inpatient coverage with modern equipment and dedicated staff.
Opportunity:
Physician - Surgery - General
Job Details:
• Provide General Surgery/Trauma Call for ER/Trauma and Inpatient Coverage
• Handle 1-5 patient encounters per shift in a Level 3 Trauma Certified facility
• Schedule: Monday 3/30/2026 at 7AM to Wednesday 4/1/2026 at 7AM
• Must maintain active New Mexico Medical License, NM Controlled Substance License, and DEA
• Emergency privileges available as an option
• No outpatient clinic responsibilities
• Perform general surgery procedures for adult and pediatric patients
• Conduct trauma surgery and emergency surgical interventions
• Provide laparoscopic surgery including appendectomy, cholecystectomy, and hernioplasty
• Perform chest wall/pleural procedures and chest tube insertion
• Conduct GI endoscopy including upper and lower procedures (sigmoidoscopy, colonoscopy)
• Handle central line insertion and PA catheter placement
• Manage vascular access devices and various pediatric surgical procedures
• Handle intestinal and biliary artesias, abdominal wall defects, and umbilical hernias
• Perform diaphragmatic hernia repairs, imperforate anus corrections, and PDA ligations
• Board certification eligible accepted
• Required certifications: ACLS, ATLS, BLS
• Immediate credentialing available
Compensation:
Competitive hourly rates with weekly pay and malpractice included. Paid Travel and Lodging.
