Physician - Surgery - General

Job Details:
• Full-time Board Certified or Board Eligible MD/DO General Surgeon position • Provide comprehensive surgical care across inpatient, outpatient, and emergency department settings • Perform common general surgical procedures including hernia repair, cholecystectomy, endoscopy, appendectomy, management of small bowel obstruction, colorectal surgery, and skin/soft tissue procedures • Deliver evaluation and management of acute and chronic wounds within the multidisciplinary Wound Clinic model • Provide expert diagnosis, treatment, and management of a wide range of surgical conditions • Exercise advanced operative skills and strong clinical judgment • Collaborate with anesthesiologists, CRNAs, physician assistants, perioperative teams, ED clinicians, hospitalists, and wound clinic team • Educate patients and families regarding surgical procedures, risks/benefits, and post-operative care plans • Review diagnostic test results and address abnormalities • Offer surgical input for palliative care, pain management, and end-of-life decision support • Participate in departmental meetings and ongoing professional development • Maintain compliance with OSHA Category I standards • Must complete residency in General Surgery • Must have MD or DO degree from an accredited medical school • Must have or obtain active Vermont medical license and DEA • Must have clean malpractice history • CPR for Healthcare Providers certification required • Not open to visa candidates, locum positions, or candidates who would commute more than 1 hour
