Locum Tenens General Surgeon Needed – Hospital-Based Coverage | Kentucky
Coverage Details:

Start Date: Q4 2025 (Onboarding begins June)

Frequency: 1 week per month

Shift Type: 24-hour call shifts (7am–7am)
Position Overview:
Join a hospital-based general surgery team providing EMTALA call coverage. You will work alongside a seasoned surgical team in a modern facility with 12 operating rooms.
Practice Information:

Setting: Inpatient hospital-based only
-
Average Volume: 1–3 surgical cases and 2–4 consults per day

Team: 3 general surgeons, supported by CSTs, RNFAs, and First Assists
-
Patient Demographic: Peds (optional, skin/soft tissue only) to geriatrics

EMR: EPIC
-
Robotics: Available for certified providers
Required Procedures:

Adult General Surgery

Minimal Trauma Surgery

Central Line & Chest Tube Insertion

Vascular Access Devices
-
Cholecystectomy
-
Hernioplasty
-
Colon & Small Bowel Procedures
Qualifications:
-
Board Certification: American Board of Surgery (ABoS) – Required

License: Active Kentucky medical license – Required

COVID-19 Vaccination: Preferred; must be completed by time of credentialing

Background: Clean background strongly preferred
Credentialing: 120-day process – onboarding starts June 2025
