Position Overview

Seeking a distinguished mid-career or senior adult cardiac surgeon to serve as Director of Cardiac Surgery. This is an exceptional opportunity to lead a tertiary-care cardiovascular program with a longstanding tradition of excellence and a commitment to innovation, quality, and patient-centered care.

Leadership Responsibilities

• Lead cardiac surgery program development and strategic growth

• Oversee quality improvement and performance initiatives

• Direct faculty recruitment and development

• Advance multidisciplinary collaboration and patient-centered cardiovascular care

• Support the continued growth and success of the cardiac surgery program

Candidate Qualifications

• Sustained record of excellence in adult cardiac surgery

• Leadership experience within an academic or high-volume clinical program

• Commitment to multidisciplinary collaboration and programmatic growth

• Interest in surgical education, mentorship, and academic advancement

• Outstanding communication skills and collaborative leadership style

Requirements

• Board Certified in Cardiac Surgery

• Cardiac Surgery Fellowship required

• Minimum of 5 years of experience as a cardiac surgeon

• Active Michigan medical license highly preferred

• BLS certification required

• Active DEA registration required

• Active CSR/CDS required

• Previous management experience preferred
