Opportunity Overview
Seeking a Board-Certified or Board-Eligible Cardiothoracic Surgeon for weekend hospital coverage at a 163-bed facility.

Hospital-based practice

Adult patient population (18+)

APP support available

EPIC EMR
-
Approximately 3 weekends of coverage per month

No TAVR procedures
Schedule & Coverage
-
24-hour call coverage
-
Friday at 12:00 PM through Monday at 7:00 AM

Average callback, including rounding: 2–4 hours per day

Current coverage dates:
-
January 22 at 12:00 PM through January 25 at 7:00 AM

February 12 at 12:00 PM through February 15 at 7:00 AM

Clinical Details
-
Provide weekend cardiothoracic surgery coverage.

Handle urgent surgical cases, including patients transferred from the cath lab to surgery.

Perform consultations and provide surgical management.

Stable patients may wait until Monday for surgery, as clinically appropriate.

Patients may be managed from ICU through discharge home.

A surgeon is available for backup following consultation.
Requirements
-
Board Certified or Board Eligible in Cardiac Surgery

Active Pennsylvania medical license
-
DEA registration required
-
Minimum of 1 year of experience

EPIC experience
-
Credentialing timeframe: approximately 60 days
-
Temporary privileges available for candidates with a clean credentialing file
