Qualifications MD or DO from an accredited medical school Completion of ACGME-accredited Thoracic Surgery training Board Certified or Board Eligible in Cardiovascular or Cardiothoracic Surgery Unrestricted Texas medical license, or eligibility for Texas licensure Position Details Seeking a Board Certified or Board Eligible Cardiovascular or Cardiothoracic Surgeon to join the practice. Join an expanding team at the region's tertiary care center with a Chest Pain Accredited cardiovascular program Multispecialty group with 75+ primary care providers and 65+ specialty providers Call 1:2 to start Scope includes core CV surgery, structural heart, left atrial appendage closure, and EP support Opportunity to build and shape the practice, including potential development of a local robotic thoracic program Additional program development opportunities in robotic lung and structural heart, based on interest More than 550 heart patients currently in the program Cardiac first assistants, with an opportunity to transition to a PA/APC model in the OR; APC support for floor rounding and clinics Strong internal referral network with a catchment area of 600,000 Dedicated CVORs and team, CV ICU, and a new hybrid OR Single partnership for ICU, hospital medicine, and emergency medicine Teaching facility with Family Medicine and Emergency Medicine residency programs Perform cardiovascular and structural heart surgery Support electrophysiology and left atrial appendage closure procedures Help build an integrated cardiovascular surgery delivery network Participate in 1:2 call About Corpus Christi: Located on the beautiful Texas Gulf Coast, Corpus Christi offers a vibrant blend of coastal living, outdoor recreation, and a rich cultural scene.
