Job description
A specialized vascular medical practice in Franklin, Tennessee is seeking a skilled and patient-focused Vascular Ultrasound Technologist (RVT or RVS) to join its clinical team.
The technologist will perform a broad range of non-invasive vascular ultrasound examinations, including carotid duplex, peripheral arterial, and peripheral venous studies, while working closely with vascular physicians and clinical staff.
Job Responsibilities
Perform comprehensive vascular ultrasound examinations according to physician orders and established protocols.
Perform carotid duplex, peripheral arterial, peripheral venous, and other vascular studies.
Obtain high-quality diagnostic images and Doppler waveforms.
Optimize ultrasound equipment and imaging parameters.
Prepare, position, and educate patients throughout examinations.
Maintain patient comfort, privacy, and confidentiality.
Recognize and document relevant vascular findings according to established protocols.
Complete accurate examination documentation in the EMR/EHR.
Collaborate with vascular physicians, nurses, and other clinical staff.
Perform routine equipment checks and report maintenance concerns.
Maintain clean, organized, and properly prepared examination rooms.
Follow HIPAA, infection-control, patient-safety, workplace-safety, and quality-assurance requirements.
Qualifications
Current RVT (Registered Vascular Technologist) or RVS (Registered Vascular Specialist) credential
Graduate of an accredited Diagnostic Medical Sonography or Vascular Technology program
Demonstrated experience performing vascular ultrasound examinations
Knowledge of vascular anatomy, physiology, and pathology
Strong knowledge of Doppler techniques and vascular imaging principles
Current BLS/CPR certification
Strong attention to detail and image/documentation accuracy
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Ability to work effectively with physicians, clinical staff, and patients
Preferred Qualifications
Experience in vascular surgery or vascular medicine
Background in radiology or diagnostic imaging
EMR/EHR experience
Experience performing a broad range of arterial and venous vascular studies
Familiarity with vascular laboratory quality assurance and accreditation standards
Familiarity with ARDMS, ARRT, or equivalent professional standards
Ideal Candidate
The ideal candidate is a certified vascular ultrasound professional with strong technical skills and excellent patient-care abilities.
You should be comfortable performing vascular studies independently, producing high-quality diagnostic images, accurately documenting examinations, and collaborating closely with vascular physicians and clinical staff.
Strong attention to detail, professionalism, compassion, and commitment to patient safety are essential.
