Locums – Quincy, Illinois Cardiothoracic Surgery Job (IMLC Welcome)

• Locum Tenens

• Part-Time

• Call-only coverage

• Start: ASAP

• Approximately 2 shifts/month

• Coverage: 1–2 weekends per month

• Anticipated start: Late 2026 or early 2027, pending credentialing

• Friday 10:00 AM – Monday 5:00 AM

• Emergent case coverage

• Round on existing patients

• Manage post-surgical needs as indicated

• On call: Yes

• Telephone call

• 30-minute response time

• Average approximately 3 calls per weekend

• Illinois medical license required to apply

• IMLC candidates considered

• Preference for candidates currently licensed in Illinois

• DEA required

• CSR required

• Board Certified

• Minimum 5 years relevant Cardiothoracic Surgery experience

• Prior experience as an employed physician required; experience does not need to be recent

• Experience working as an integrated member of a hospital-based surgical team required

• Primary focus on CABG cases

• Manage and perform CABG procedures if needed

• Referrals primarily from Cardiology

• AM rounding with additional rounding based on patient condition

• Manage post-surgical patients and changes in condition

• Average daily census: 7 patients

• CVU team helps address questions during rounding to minimize after-hours calls

• Well-supported Cardiothoracic Surgery program

• Candidate will work solo

• Epic EMR

• Hospital-based surgical team
