The facility is a Duke Health affiliate, combining unparalleled expertise in clinical excellence, quality, and patient safety, and is home to an integrated Cardiology service line that includes Interventional, Structural Heart, EP, and Cardiology specialties — the first of its kind in western North Carolina.

BE/BC - Cardiothoracic Surgery

Job Details:

  • Join a hospital-employed practice with two existing CV Surgeons, located 53 miles from Charlotte, NC
  • Position is open to both Cardiothoracic and Cardiovascular Surgeons in support of true program growth
  • Call schedule is 1:3
  • Experience preferred but not required
  • Fellowship in transcatheter valve and complex aortic surgery preferred
  • Perform a full scope of adult cardiothoracic and cardiovascular procedures
  • Cardiovascular procedures include: advanced CABG techniques, endoscopic vein harvest, multi-arterial grafting, arrhythmia surgery, endovascular surgery, thoracic aortic surgery, aortic aneurysm repair, TEVAR, TAVR, and valvular repair/replacement
  • General thoracic procedures include: EBUS, lobectomy, mediastinoscopy, navigational bronchoscopy, wedge resections, VATS, management of pericardial and pleural fluid collections, pneumothorax management, thoracic trauma management, and surgical treatment of emphysema and mediastinal diseases
  • Open heart and minimally invasive valvular procedures include: aortic valve replacement, mitral valve repair/replacement, tricuspid valve repair, combined valvular repair/replacement, and surgical closure of septal defects
