• Seeking an experienced Board-Certified Cardiothoracic Surgeon for a locum tenens opportunity in Grand Forks, North Dakota.
• The provider will primarily manage inpatient cardiothoracic surgical coverage with additional outpatient consult responsibilities.
• This role includes 24-hour call coverage throughout the assignment period.
• The facility offers strong surgical and clinical support with dedicated CT surgery APPs, nursing staff, and full operating room support.
• Coverage is needed due to scheduled physician time off.

Job Responsibilities
• Provide inpatient rounding, surgical consultations, and postoperative management
• Handle emergency and scheduled cardiothoracic surgical cases
• Perform procedures such as pericardial window creation, lung resections, and vascular surgeries including endarterectomies
• Collaborate with APPs, nursing staff, and OR personnel to ensure high-quality patient care
• Conduct outpatient consultations following surgical procedures as needed
• Maintain accurate clinical documentation and patient records
Qualifications
• American Board Certification, AOA Certification, or Canadian Royal College Certification accepted
• Doctorate from an accredited medical school required
• Active Medical License – Required
• Extensive experience in cardiothoracic and vascular surgical procedures preferred
• Strong inpatient surgical and call coverage experience preferred
Working Hours
• 7:00 AM – 7:00 AM
• 7 x 12-hour schedule equivalent
• Coverage dates include:
• July 24 – August 3, 2026
• September 25 – October 12, 2026
