A well-established surgical program in New Orleans, LA is seeking a Board-Certified or Board-Eligible Cardiovascular Surgeon to join a high-performing cardiothoracic and vascular team.
This is a full-time opportunity within a Level II Trauma Center offering a balanced mix of inpatient, outpatient, and surgical responsibilities. The practice is supported by experienced APPs, strong clinical infrastructure, and a consistent surgical volume.
The incoming surgeon will step into an established system with approximately 90 procedures per month, covering a broad range of cardiovascular, thoracic, and vascular cases.
Job Responsibilities
Manage CABG, valve replacements, AAA repairs, and vascular bypass cases
Perform VATS procedures, thoracotomies, and lobectomies
Provide inpatient rounding, admissions, and surgical consults
Participate in ER call coverage and emergent surgical care
Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams including APPs and nursing staff
Participate in teaching and supervision responsibilities
Qualifications
Board Certified or Board Eligible in Cardiovascular Surgery
Fellowship training preferred
Experience in both inpatient and outpatient surgical care
Ability to obtain hospital privileges (temporary privileges available)
Strong procedural and emergency surgical capability
Working Hours
Scheduled clinical + surgical blocks
Inpatient + Outpatient coverage
Call required (1:5 beeper call rotation)
