This hospital is a well-established healthcare institution providing comprehensive cardiovascular and cardiothoracic services to the community. The facility offers high-acuity patient care across multiple specialties including cardiac, thoracic, vascular, and heart failure services with advanced surgical capabilities and emergency care.
Opportunity:
Advanced Practice - Physician Assistant - Cardiovascular/Cardiothoracic Surgery, Nurse Practitioner - Cardiovascular Surgery
Job Details:
• Provide comprehensive cardiovascular and cardiothoracic surgery support with 8-10 inpatient encounters per shift
• Must have cardiothoracic experience with PAs requiring EVH experience (~500 cases/10 years experience)
• Monday-Thursday onsite coverage 7:00am-4:30pm with on-call duties starting at 4:30pm
• Friday onsite coverage 7:00am-5:00pm with on-call starting at 5:00pm
• Weekend coverage includes 24-hour responsibility with approximately 4 hours onsite beginning at 6:00am for rounding
• Preferred schedule is 7 days on/7 days off Monday through Sunday
• Take ICU call 1-2 nights per week from 5:00pm-7:00am
• Primary responsibilities include rounding and medical management with limited OR time initially
• Daily rounding on all inpatients in ICU and stepdown units, managing new consults and discharges
• OR duties include EVH procedures, training new APPs, first assist on cases, and emergency call coverage
• Manage diverse patient population across cardiac, thoracic, vascular, and heart failure specialties
• Handle high-acuity patients including all adult cardiac surgeries, robotic thoracic procedures, open vascular surgeries, and advanced heart failure devices
• Board certification required with ACLS and BLS certifications
• Active Indiana medical license required
• Credentialing timeframe 10-30 days with clean background
• Must provide own laptop for call coverage
