This is a well-established medical center offering comprehensive cardiovascular services with a dedicated surgical team. The facility features a 12-bed department and is designated as a Level 2 trauma center, providing advanced surgical care to the community.
Opportunity:
Physician - Surgery - Cardiovascular
Job Details:
• Position is for 1st assist to the Cardiovascular Thoracic (CVT) surgeon on heart cases • General surgeons are also welcome to apply (not limited to CVT specialists) • No office time required - focused solely on surgical cases • Monday through Friday schedule with no call responsibilities • No rounding required • Approximately 2 patient encounters per shift • Must be skilled in chest wall/pleural procedures • Required to perform chest tube insertion, central line insertion, and PA catheter placement • Vascular surgery experience preferred, including thoracic aneurysm repairs, arterial bypass, peripheral procedures, vascular access devices, and AV shunt • Experience with adult, pediatric, neonate, and trauma surgeries required • Board certification required with active ACLS and BLS certifications • Must possess active California medical license • Credentialing timeframe approximately 60 days • Nearest airports: San Francisco and Sacramento
