The Charleston Area Medical Center Institute for Academic Medicine is seeking a General Surgeon with fellowship training in breast surgery for a full-time academic position in the Department of Surgery. The successful candidate will provide breast surgery services in our academic healthcare institution while providing educational opportunities for medical students, residents, and other clinical learners. Charleston Area Medical Center - established in 1972, CAMC is a nonprofit, 1,103-bed regional referral center made up of six hospitals: CAMC General Hospital, CAMC Greenbrier Valley Medical Center, CAMC Memorial Hospital, CAMC Plateau Medical Center, CAMC Teays Valley Hospital and CAMC Women and Children’s Hospital, as well as the CAMC Institute for Academic Medicine and the CAMC Foundation. Job Responsibilities

Job Requirements by the time of appointment are:

MD, DO degree or foreign equivalent degree from an ACGME accredited program
Completion of a general surgery residency
Completion of an SSO breast surgery fellowship 
Board certification or board eligibility by the American Board of Surgery in General Surgery is required.   

 

Possess aptitude and passion for educating residents and medical students

 

Willingness to participate in appropriate academic, clinical research or other scholarly activity as may be required of clinical faculty
Eligible for a WV Medical License at the time of appointment
No general surgery call is required, but is allowed if desired
