A 330-bed full-service medical center in southern New Hampshire offering full medical-surgical care with more than 25 subspecialties, a 24-hour emergency department, inpatient and outpatient psychiatric services, and diagnostic imaging is adding a Bariatric/Obesity Medicine Physician


About the Position:

  • Assesses, develops, and recommends a treatment plan for patients seeking medical weight loss management. Facilitates and coordinates strategic program planning, development, and education concerning the medial weight loss component of NEWMI.
  • Examine patients for comprehensive evaluation to include medical history, medication use, psychosocial factors, and behaviors that influence a patient?s weight history.
  • Perform lab and other diagnostic testing as indicated. Evaluate findings and reviews with the patient as appropriate.
  • Formulates diagnosis and identifies medical needs based on the evaluation.
  • Recommend and design a treatment plan, which may include pharmaceutical, nutritional, behavioral health, and exercise interventions.
  • Coordinates plan of care and reviews/collaborates with the referring physician, multidisciplinary treatment team, and specialty services as needed.
  • Monitors the effectiveness of the prescribed plan of care and modifies treatment accordingly.
  • Develops protocols, treatment plans, and pathways to promote the growth of the program and delivery of innovative patient care.
  • Provides education to patients, physicians, and other members of the multidisciplinary team regarding Medical Weight Loss patients.
  • Participates in overall strategic program planning and development.

Requirements:

  • MD or DO, Completed Residency in Internal Medicine or Family Medicine
  • Practice experience or fellowship training in Obesity Medicine is preferred.
