Position Summary

We are seeking a compassionate, patient-centric, Rheumatologist to provide comprehensive outpatient rheumatologic care for patients with autoimmune, inflammatory, and musculoskeletal disorders. The physician will be launching a novel service line for the region, but joining a collaborative medical staff team of 100+ employed providers focused on delivering evidence-based care, improving patient outcomes, and enhancing access to specialty services within the community.

This position is primarily outpatient, with four days per week dedicated to direct patient care and one administrative day per week to support documentation, care coordination, quality initiatives, and professional development.

Job Responsibilities

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Clinical Care
Evaluate, diagnose, and manage patients with rheumatologic and autoimmune conditions, including but not limited to:
Rheumatoid arthritis
Psoriatic arthritis
Ankylosing spondylitis
Systemic lupus erythematosus
Vasculitis
Sjögren's syndrome
Scleroderma
Gout and crystal arthropathies
Osteoarthritis
Osteoporosis
Develop and implement individualized treatment plans.
Prescribe and monitor disease-modifying antirheumatic drugs (DMARDs), biologics, and infusion therapies.
Perform office-based procedures as appropriate, including:
Joint aspirations
Joint injections
Soft tissue injections
Review laboratory and diagnostic imaging results.
Coordinate care with primary care providers and other specialists.
Educate patients and families regarding disease processes, treatment options, and preventive care.

Qualifications

Required
Doctor of Medicine (MD) or Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine (DO)
Completion of an accredited Internal Medicine Residency
Completion of an accredited Rheumatology Fellowship
Board Certified or Board Eligible in Rheumatology
Unrestricted medical license or eligibility for licensure in the state of practice
Current DEA registration
Preferred
Experience in outpatient rheumatology practice
Proficiency with musculoskeletal ultrasound
Experience with biologic therapy management and infusion services
Demonstrated commitment to patient-centered care and quality improvement

Working Hours

Schedule and Work Expectations
Four (4) clinic days per week
One (1) administrative day per week
Forty-six (46) working weeks per year
Twenty-nine (29) days of Annual Time Off (ATO) annually
Five (5) days of Continuing Medical Education (CME) leave annually
Full-time position
Primarily outpatient practice
No routine inpatient responsibilities (unless otherwise specified)
Telephone call responsibilities as assigned by the department
