Job description Rheumatology opening in Lewiston, ME Located in Lewiston, ME - Portland 35 miles, Boston 140 miles Full-time; Permanent Hospital-Employed 2026 Start Date Overview: * Seeking Board Certified or Board Eligible Rheumatologist * Opportunity to build and grow rheumatology services within expanding specialty program * Provide comprehensive care for rheumatologic and autoimmune disorders * Mix of outpatient care with limited inpatient consults * Strong referral network and administrative support * Collaborative multidisciplinary environment --- Clinical Details: * Diagnose and manage autoimmune and inflammatory conditions including rheumatoid arthritis, lupus, psoriatic arthritis, ankylosing spondylitis, gout, and vasculitis * Develop individualized treatment plans including biologic and immunomodulatory therapies * Perform joint injections and musculoskeletal assessments * Collaborate with primary care, orthopedics, nephrology, dermatology, and other specialties * Participate in multidisciplinary care coordination * Maintain documentation within EMR * Optional opportunities for teaching, research, or community outreach --- Compensation & Benefits: * Competitive base salary with productivity incentives * Sign-on bonus * Relocation assistance * Comprehensive health, dental, and vision benefits * 401(k) retirement plan with employer contribution * CME allowance and paid time off * Malpractice provided with tail coverage --- Requirements: * MD or DO * Completion of Internal Medicine residency * Fellowship training in Rheumatology * Board Certified or Board Eligible in Rheumatology * Eligible for Maine medical license * DEA registration --- About the Area: Lewiston, ME is located along the Androscoggin River and serves as one of the primary healthcare hubs of central Maine.
