Job description Eagle Telemedicine is currently seeking an experienced, board-certified Rheumatology Specialist with an active license in 1 U.S. state to join our rapidly evolving Tele-Rheumatology team.

RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Provides and manages direct patient care, including physical examinations, evaluations, assessments, diagnoses, and treatment.
  • Prescribes pharmaceuticals, other medications, and treatment regimens as appropriate to an assessed medical condition.
  • Refers patients to specialists and relevant patient care components as appropriate.
  • Provides medical guidance to onsite nursing staff and physician-to-physician consultation in inpatient and outpatient clinic settings
  • Maintains working relationships with onsite medical providers engaged with inpatient care.
  • Documents patient interaction, diagnosis, treatment, etc. within the hospital’s EMR.
  • Excellent bedside manner and communication skills
MINIMUM JOB REQUIREMENTS:
  • Currently licensed in at least one U.S. state.
  • Job applicants must be Board Certified in Rheumatology.
  • Medical Doctor with 3 to 5 years of experience, to include residency in Internal Medicine and fellowship training in Rheumatology.
  • Federal DEA Certification; Medical Specialty License of Certification
  • Experience navigating multiple EMR systems, strong technical skills, and experience with secure video conferencing.
  • Ability to work 5 or more shifts per month.

Job Responsibilities

In this role, the Tele-Rheumatologist will provide and manage direct patient care, including evaluations, assessments, diagnoses, and treatment planning for a variety of rheumatologic conditions. Responsibilities include prescribing medications and appropriate treatment regimens, providing physician-to-physician consultation, offering guidance to onsite nursing staff, and collaborating closely with hospital-based providers in both inpatient and outpatient settings. The physician will be responsible for maintaining strong working relationships with clinical partners and documenting all patient encounters within hospital EMR systems.

Qualifications

Qualified candidates must be Board Certified in Rheumatology, have completed an Internal Medicine residency and Rheumatology fellowship, and hold an active, unrestricted medical license in at least one U.S. state. A Federal DEA certification is required. The ideal candidate will have three to five years of experience, demonstrate strong communication skills, be comfortable navigating multiple EMR systems, and have experience with secure video conferencing platforms. Physicians must be able to commit to five or more shifts per month.

Working Hours

Outpatient: Monday - Friday (4-hour Clinic Blocks)
Inpatient: Monday - Sunday - 24/7 coverage (12 hour on-call shifts)
