Rheumatologist Opening in Gadsden, AL
Location:
Gadsden, AL
This role involves both outpatient and inpatient care
M-F clinic. No call (OP Clinic)
Position Overview:
* Diagnose and manage rheumatic diseases such as rheumatoid arthritis, systemic lupus erythematosus, vasculitis, and spondyloarthropathies
* Perform and interpret diagnostic tests, including joint aspiration and musculoskeletal ultrasounds
* Develop individualized treatment plans encompassing pharmacologic and non-pharmacologic therapies
* Educate patients and families on disease processes, treatment options, and preventive care
* Collaborate with other specialists (e.g., orthopedists, nephrologists, dermatologists) as necessary
* Maintain accurate and timely documentation in the electronic medical record (EMR)
* Participate in quality improvement initiatives and continuing education
* Potential involvement in teaching residents or fellows, depending on practice setting
Qualifications:
* MD or DO from an accredited institution
* Board certified or eligible in Rheumatology
* Valid, unrestricted state medical license
* DEA credentialing required for prescribing medications
* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
* Commitment to delivering high-quality, patient-centered care
Preferred Qualifications:
* Experience with Epic EMR system
* Training in musculoskeletal ultrasound
* Academic or teaching experience (if applicable)
