A hospital system in Staten Island is currently seeking a Residency Program Director for the Psychiatry Department.
About the Opportunity:
- Schedule: Monday to Friday
- Hours: 830am to 5:30pm
- Setting: Inpatient
- Call: No Call
Responsibilities:
The Residency Program Director will:
- Direct and manage the Psychiatry Residency Program and be responsible for the overall operations of the psychiatry residency program.
- Responsible for recruitment, retention, training and education of 24 residents across 4 years
- Responsible for ensuring all ACGME requirements for the training program are met on time
- Work collaboratively with the DIO (Designated Institutional Official) and serve on the Graduate medical education committee as may be appointed.
- Work with the residency program coordinator to ensure smooth operations of the program.
- Have to be able to handle patient care responsibilities in addition to the duties of the program director.
Qualifications:
- Current unrestricted NY medical license
- Board Certified/Eligible in Psychiatry (MD/DO)
- DEA / BLS / ACLS
Desired Skills:
- Academic Experience Preferred
- Consideration given to candidates with significant experience as a faculty member in a GME program with responsibilities for teaching, supervision and evaluation of residents and/fellows.
- Have prior experience serving as a program director or associate program director in psychiatry or a subspecialty.
