Job description

Job description

A facility in Southern California needs onsite locum tenens coverage with no call. Most of the day is diagnostic reading across several modalities.

About the Assignment

  • Shifts: Your day runs from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.
  • Volume: You can expect between 90 and 130 reads a day, plus a few procedures.
  • Modalities: You'll read ultrasound, CT, MRI, and X-ray.
  • Requirements: You'll need an active California license.

Location and Lifestyle

Southern California runs from coastal towns to mountains and open desert. Outside your shifts, you can spend a day at one of California's state beaches.

About Interim Physicians

Ken Teufel, MD, founded the company that became Interim Physicians in 1979, a year after selling a solo family practice in small-town Texas to cover for physicians who couldn't get away. Dr. Teufel served as medical director for 42 years and was one of the founding fathers of locum tenens. The standards Dr. Teufel set still decide which physicians Interim presents to a facility.

Interim staff members average 14 years with the company, so the recruiter who places a physician is the same one who calls about the next assignment. Clinicians and facility clients have rated Interim 9 or 10 out of 10 often enough to earn ClearlyRated's Best of Staffing Diamond award.
