Job description
A hospital-based radiology practice in Southern California is seeking a Board-Certified Diagnostic Radiologist for ongoing weekend locum tenens coverage. The group is particularly interested in candidates with a Body Imaging background who are comfortable interpreting a high-volume mix of CT, MRI, ultrasound, and plain film studies.
This is an onsite weekend assignment at a busy inpatient facility serving adult and geriatric patients. Providers must be able to maintain strong productivity while delivering high-quality interpretations and ensuring studies are completed during their scheduled shift.
Job Responsibilities
Interpret all studies received during scheduled coverage hours
Complete assigned workload before the end of the shift
Participate in two onsite weekday training/orientation days prior to beginning coverage
Commit to at least one weekend shift per month, with additional shifts preferred
Maintain high-quality diagnostic interpretation standards in a fast-paced environment
Case Mix
The practice includes a broad range of diagnostic imaging studies, with an emphasis on:
CT
MRI
Ultrasound
Plain Film X-Ray
Not Included
Nuclear Medicine
Cardiac Imaging
Breast Imaging
Qualifications
Board Certified in Radiology
Active, unrestricted California medical license
DEA required
BLS or ACLS certification
Minimum of 1 year of post-training experience
Body Imaging experience preferred
Ability to work onsite
Must be available for required orientation and assessment period
