Position Overview

We are seeking a Full-Time Interventional Radiologist to join our team at Cedar Hill Hospital in Washington, DC. This is a primarily onsite IR position providing a broad range of interventional radiology procedures in a hospital-based environment.

The ideal candidate is comfortable managing both scheduled and urgent interventional procedures, working collaboratively with referring physicians and multidisciplinary hospital teams, and providing high-quality patient care throughout the procedure and follow-up process.

In addition to the onsite IR responsibilities, remote diagnostic radiology reading opportunities may be available as an additional income opportunity, with separate RVU-based compensation for eligible diagnostic work.

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform a broad range of image-guided interventional radiology procedures appropriate to the hospital's clinical needs
  • Perform vascular and nonvascular image-guided procedures, including biopsies, drain placements, vascular access, and other minimally invasive procedures within the physician's scope of practice
  • Evaluate patients before procedures, obtain appropriate clinical history, review imaging, and determine procedural plans
  • Provide appropriate pre-procedure, intra-procedure, and post-procedure patient management
  • Perform image-guided procedures using ultrasound, CT, fluoroscopy, and other appropriate imaging modalities
  • Manage procedural complications and coordinate appropriate follow-up care when necessary
  • Collaborate with referring physicians, surgeons, emergency department staff, hospitalists, and other multidisciplinary teams
  • Communicate procedural findings, recommendations, and follow-up plans clearly with referring providers and clinical teams
  • Maintain accurate procedure documentation and comply with hospital, quality, safety, and regulatory requirements
  • Participate in quality assurance, peer review, departmental meetings, and clinical improvement initiatives
  • Utilize PACS, EMR, and other clinical technology to support efficient patient care and documentation

Qualifications

  • MD or DO degree
  • Board Certified / Board Eligible in Interventional Radiology or Diagnostic Radiology with appropriate interventional training
  • Active DC medical license or eligibility for DC licensure
  • Fellowship training in Interventional Radiology or equivalent advanced interventional training
  • Strong proficiency in image-guided interventional procedures and hospital-based IR practice
  • Strong clinical judgment and ability to independently evaluate and manage interventional patients
  • Excellent communication, professionalism, and teamwork skills
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced hospital environment and collaborate with multidisciplinary clinical teams

Compensation

  • Compensation is aligned with full-time coverage commitment, employment classification, experience, and annual workload expectations
  • Full-Time onsite IR position at Cedar Hill Hospital
  • RVU-based productivity compensation may apply in accordance with the approved compensation structure
  • Additional remote diagnostic radiology reading opportunities may be available with separate RVU-based compensation for eligible diagnostic work
