A healthcare system is seeking a Remote Diagnostic Radiologist to provide long term overnight coverage supporting multiple hospital imaging sites. This opportunity offers a consistent overnight schedule with a structured rotation that allows for extended time off between coverage blocks.

Radiologists will interpret a high acuity mix of emergency department and inpatient imaging studies similar to a Level 1 trauma center environment. The workflow is primarily focused on CT and radiography studies related to trauma, neurologic evaluation, and acute inpatient care. Physicians comfortable working in a fast paced overnight diagnostic environment with a trauma focused case mix are encouraged to inquire.

Job Responsibilities

The radiologist will provide remote diagnostic imaging interpretation during overnight hours supporting emergency department and inpatient imaging services across multiple hospital sites. Responsibilities include interpreting a high volume of CT and radiography studies related to trauma and acute care imaging while maintaining efficient turnaround times. The physician will read from a general diagnostic worklist that includes CT, radiography, and ultrasound studies commonly associated with emergency and trauma related imaging. The radiologist will collaborate with clinical teams to deliver timely and accurate imaging interpretations that support patient care in a high acuity overnight environment.

Qualifications

• Board Certified or Board Eligible in Diagnostic Radiology within five years of training
• Experience interpreting emergency department and trauma related imaging studies
• Comfortable working overnight shifts in a high volume diagnostic environment
• Active state medical license or ability to obtain
• Ability to work efficiently in a remote reading environment
• Current BLS and ACLS certifications

Working Hours

Remote overnight coverage 7 days per week from 10:00 PM to 7:00 AM EST.

The schedule operates on a one week on, two weeks off rotation. Physicians must be comfortable with overnight coverage and may be asked to assist with holiday coverage as needed.

Credentialing may take several months, but providers able to start as soon as credentialing is completed are preferred.

Skills

• CT (approximately 42 percent)
• CR / Radiography (approximately 40 percent)
• Ultrasound (approximately 5 percent)
• Additional general diagnostic imaging studies

The case mix is comparable to acute care imaging volumes typically seen at Level 1 trauma centers, with a focus on emergency department and inpatient studies.
