Location: Fort Hood, Texas

Fort Hood is located in Central Texas near Killeen and offers a community centered around military support and pride. Schedule & Work Environment
The Radiology Department operates 24/7, providing patient care Monday through Friday from 7:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.
This position offers a rotating schedule that includes weekday and weekend shifts to ensure continuous coverage.
Normal hours are 40 hours per week with a 60-minute unpaid lunch.

Team & Tech Snapshot:
• Team of 7 Radiologists (4 military, 1 federal employee, 2 contractors)
• Department of approximately 70 staff members
• Advanced equipment: 3T and 1.5T MRI, two CT scanners, Ultrasound, X-ray, Fluoroscopy, Nuclear Medicine, Mammography
• PACS/RIS: Agfa EI

Possible Shifts:
• 7:30 a.m. – 4:30 p.m. (1-hr lunch)
• 8:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m. (1-hr lunch)
• 10:00 a.m. – 7:00 p.m. (Short Call)
• 7:00 p.m. – 7:30 a.m. (Overnight with cell phone back-up call)

On-Call Details:
• Weekend call: 24-hour back-up call with up to 8 in-house hours/day
• Holiday coverage: Same structure as weekends
• Home call rotation: 1 week every 7 weeks (varies with staffing)
• ED coverage: 7:30 a.m. – 4:00 p.m. Mon–Fri
• Rare overnight call-ins; typically only for network disruptions affecting teleradiology
• Flexible scheduling may be assigned; not to exceed 80 hours per 2-week period (excluding meal breaks)

Requirements
• MD or DO degree
• US-accredited Diagnostic Radiology residency completion
• Board Certified or Board Eligible in Diagnostic Radiology
• Active Texas medical license
• Minimum 2 years of recent clinical experience
• Current BLS certification

Key Responsibilities
• Provide interpretation of diagnostic imaging studies including: plain film, CT, MRI, ultrasound, nuclear medicine, mammography, and fluoroscopic procedures
• Deliver STAT interpretations within 15 minutes of study availability
• Meet report turnaround expectations:
▫ STAT: 1 hour
▫ ASAP: 24 hours
▫ Routine: 72 hours
• Perform fluoroscopic exams and special procedures; same-day interpretation required
• Offer diagnostic consultation and collaborate with referring providers
• Interpret studies from civilian and federal facilities as needed within 24 hours of receipt

Examples of Procedures Performed:
• Fluoro & Radiography: chest, spine, extremities, GI studies, arthrograms, mammography, GU exams and more
• Ultrasound: neonatal, thyroid, abdominal, pelvic, vascular and soft tissue exams
• MRI: brain, spine, joints, abdomen/pelvis including MRCP
• CT: head, spine, extremities, angiography across multiple vascular territories
