- Position: Diagnostic Radiologist (Telemedicine) — Overnight remote reads
- Specialty: Radiology — Diagnostic; Board certification required
- Start: July–August (contingent on credentialing)
- Commitment: 6–12 months (candidate must commit to full contract length agreed)
- Schedule: Overnight coverage, 10:00 PM–7:00 AM; Monday–Sunday rotation; 1 week/month up to full-time available
- Coverage: Remote CT and general diagnostic reads across multiple facilities (supporting 2 hospitals in College Station and 7 in greater Austin)
- Case volume (typical/night): College Station ~50–55 studies; Greater Austin ~100–110 studies — consistent nightly volume, mostly STAT
- Case mix: Primarily CT and X-ray; ultrasound limited; minimal MRI/advanced studies
- Acuity: ER-style workflow — College Station ~90% STAT; Greater Austin ~80%+ STAT; real-time reads, minimal backlog
- Systems: EMR Epic; PACS Visage; Dictation PowerScribe One 2019; AI [Register to View] (potential switch to Aidoc)
- Licensing: Texas medical license required (IMLC accepted only) — employer willing to sponsor IMLC licensure
- Credentialing: Expedited process but typically ~135 days
- Interview: Expedited — interviews and decisions within 24–48 hours; meetings with regional radiology leader and CMO
- Practice setting: Telemedicine; fast-paced overnight ER environment with predictable volume
Job Responsibilities
Interpret and finalize studies accurately and promptly to meet ER turnaround expectations
Triage and prioritize cases using available AI tools (RAPID.al / Aidoc) and PACS (Visage) workflows
Document findings and impressions in Epic and complete dictation via PowerScribe One 2019
Communicate critical/urgent results and consult with emergency clinicians and site providers as needed
Support coverage across multiple facilities (2 hospitals in College Station, 7 in greater Austin) and coordinate care transitions when required
Maintain quality assurance, follow departmental protocols, and escalate unusual/complex cases per department policy
Participate in expedited communications with regional leadership and the CMO as needed (e.g., case reviews, operational issues)
Maintain required board certification and Texas licensure (IMLC accepted) and comply with credentialing/privileging requirements
Qualifications
Board certified or board eligible in Diagnostic Radiology (board certification required)
Active Texas medical license (IMLC multistate license accepted) or willingness to obtain via IMLC (employer willing to sponsor)
Experience with overnight/ER-style remote reads and high STAT volume (ability to interpret ~50–110 studies/night)
Strong competency in CT and X‑ray interpretation; familiarity with basic ultrasound reads; minimal advanced modality work required
Proficient with Epic EMR, Visage PACS, and PowerScribe One dictation workflow; comfort using AI triage tools (RAPID.al, Aidoc)
Telemedicine/remote practice experience preferred
Excellent communication skills for timely critical-result notification and coordination with ED/site clinicians
Ability to commit to a 6–12 month contract and work overnight shifts (10:00 PM–7:00 AM), flexible across a Monday–Sunday rotation
Willingness to complete expedited credentialing (typical ~135 days) and participate in rapid interview/decision processes
