Ansible Government Solutions, LLC is currently recruiting a Board-Certified Interventional Radiologist to provide on-site physician services at the Audie L. Murphy Memorial Veterans’ Hospital in San Antonio, Texas.
We recently increased the clinical rate to $550/hour, making this an excellent opportunity for an experienced Interventional Radiologist seeking premium compensation, flexible monthly scheduling, and the opportunity to provide high-acuity IR care to our nation’s Veterans.
Compensation & Schedule
- Clinical Rate: $550/hour
- On-Call Rate: $60/hour
- Callback Rate: $550/hour
- Monday–Friday, 7:00 AM–4:00 PM CT
- On-site at the Audie L. Murphy Memorial Veterans’ Hospital
- Evening, weekend, and federal holiday call coverage
- Minimum commitment: 1 week per month
- 2 weeks per month or full-time availability strongly preferred
- Long-term VA opportunity
At the clinical rate, a standard 8-hour day represents $4,400 in compensation, before applicable call or callback coverage.
Clinical Practice
The Interventional Radiology service performs approximately 1,000–1,500 procedures annually, with an approximately equal mix of inpatient and outpatient cases. The majority of procedures involve high-acuity and complex patients.
Typical procedures include:
- Bone, bone marrow, liver, lung, and renal biopsies
- Angiograms
- Arterial and venous embolization
- Drainage procedures
- GI tube placements
- Additional interventional procedures within granted privileges
Available imaging modalities include Ultrasound, CT, and Fluoroscopy.
Call Expectations
Call coverage is required when the clinic is closed, including evenings, weekends, and federal holidays, and is shared between contractor and VA physicians.
Physicians must be able to:
- Respond to phone consultations within 15 minutes
- Acknowledge callback requests within 15 minutes
- Arrive on-site within 60 minutes when called back
- Participate in weekend call coverage, generally running from 4:00 PM Friday through 7:00 AM Monday
Call schedules are finalized at least two weeks in advance.
Qualifications
Candidates must possess:
- Board Certification in Interventional Radiology through the American Board of Radiology (ABR)
- Active, unrestricted medical license in any U.S. state
- Current DEA registration
- NPI number
- Ability to successfully complete VA credentialing and privileging requirements
