A well-established private radiology practice in Hot Springs, Arkansas, is seeking an Interventional Radiologist to join its growing team. This is an opportunity to practice broad-spectrum IR while also remaining active on the diagnostic side of radiology.
The anticipated practice mix is approximately 60% Interventional Radiology and 40% Diagnostic Radiology, offering a balanced role for someone who enjoys procedures but also wants to maintain their diagnostic skills.
The Practice
You'll join an established team of radiologists providing coverage for two hospitals, including a Level II Trauma Center.
The IR practice is well supported and includes:

Dedicated outpatient IR clinic

Established referral relationships across multiple specialties

Experienced APPs, nurses, technologists, and clinical coordinators

Broad procedural volume and variety

Shared call responsibilities
The procedural mix includes peripheral vascular work, oncology interventions, venous disease, embolization, TIPS, vertebral augmentation, biopsies, drains, and other image-guided procedures.
Physicians can expect approximately 10 to 12 procedures per day when covering IR, with a shared call rotation and the possibility of a four-day workweek.
Diagnostic Responsibilities
When assigned to a diagnostic shift, you'll work alongside the rest of the radiology team and independently manage a diagnostic reading list for the day.
There is currently no specific RVU or study-count requirement tied to these shifts. The expectation is simply that you are comfortable functioning as a well-rounded diagnostic radiologist and contributing to the group's overall workload.
Candidates should be comfortable reading across modalities, including CT, MRI, ultrasound, plain film, and other general diagnostic studies.
Mammography is NOT required.
If you are MQSA certified and would like to contribute to mammography coverage, the group would certainly welcome it, but neither of the group's current Interventional Radiologists reads mammography.
The practice also recognizes that an Interventional Radiologist's diagnostic output may differ from that of a physician practicing 100% Diagnostic Radiology. The goal is not to turn the position into a high-volume diagnostic role. The goal is to find an IR physician who can confidently run a diagnostic list when scheduled while remaining an integral part of the group's Interventional Radiology service.
